Dicha cadena polipept\u00eddica se halla dividida en dos l\u00f3bulos claramente definicidos en las tres transferinas:l\u00f3bulo n l\u00f3bulobc y regi\u00f3n conectora.  cada l\u00f3bulo est\u00e1 a su vez dividido en dos dominios diferentes n1;n2 c1 y c2 en cisura entre ambos dominios hay un sitio de uni\u00f3n al hierro por l\u00f3bulo el sitio n y el sitio c estan distanciados 42 a uno de otro.  las transferrinas poseen una gran variedad de propiedades en los seres vivos relacionadas, directa o indirectamente con una acci\u00f3n antimicrobiana.  entre los modelos que diversos autores han propuesto para explicar la actividad antibacteriana de esta familia de prote\u00ednas destacan:  1 captaci\u00f3n competitiva del hierro. Metabolito indispensable para el crecimiento celular  2 una acci\u00f3n antimicrobiana directa o en colaboraci\u00f3n con otras mol\u00e9culas como la lisozima en el caso de la lactofern  3 alteraci\u00f3n de procesos metabolicos tales como la incorporaci\u00f3n de glucosa en s.Mutans.  4 alteraci\u00f3n de lamembrana externa en gram negativos  5 la presencia de dominios cati\u00f3nicos intramoleculares con propiedad bactericida.  ninguno de estos modelos explica satisfactoriamente la probada capacidad antibacteriana de las transferrinas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
