Solo uno de los clones originados, el dd53 (procedente del cdna frag 53) present\u00f3 una homolog\u00eda significativa con prote\u00ednas existentes  en la base de datos, siendo de un 84% de similitud (65% de identidad) con determinadas zonas del gen prb1 que codifica la proteasa b vacuolar de s. Cerevisiae.  el inserto de cdna fue liberado mediante digesti\u00f3n enzim\u00e1tica con ecori y se utiliz\u00f3 como sonda en el rastreo de la genoteca gen\u00f3mica c9, con el prop\u00f3sito de aislar un clon que contuviese el gen entero. El fragmento hindlll-xbal del clon 5b que conten\u00eda el gen completo fue secuenciado y su secuencia nucleot\u00eddica revel\u00f3 la existencia de una \u00fanica pauta abierta de lectura de 1395 pb que codificaba una prote\u00edna de 465 aa, hom\u00f3loga a la proteasa b de s. Cerevisae y similar a miembros de la superfamilia de las subtilis\u00edn-ser\u00edn-proteasas, concretamente de la familia de las proteinasas k.  estudios sobre la regulaci\u00f3n del gen evidenciaron que caprb1 est\u00e1 sujeto a represi\u00f3n catab\u00f3lica por nitr\u00f3geno pero no por glucosa y que no est\u00e1 implicado en morfolog\u00eda ni en la transici\u00f3n dim\u00f3rfica, al menos bajo las condiciones estudiadas. Los resultados obtenidos sugieren que su expresi\u00f3n est\u00e1 relacionada con el estr\u00e9s nutricional por naga, potenciado por el estr\u00e9s t\u00e9rmico.  estudios de localizaci\u00f3n cromos\u00f3mica  en las cepas ca\/4 y sc5314 revelaron la presencia del gen en el cromosoma 2.  la interrupci\u00f3n g\u00e9nica utilizando la t\u00e9cnica \u00abura-blaster\u00bb permiti\u00f3 la
