Jes\u00fas <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El g\u00e9nero malassezia esta formado por levaduras lipofilas que constituyen una parte importante de la microbiota saprofita fungica de la piel del hombre y de los animales. Estas levaduras se asocian con patolog\u00edas cr\u00f3nicas y superficiales de la piel del hombre y de los animales y con septicemias en pacientes inmunodeprimidos y neonatos que reciben nutrici\u00f3n parenteral rica en emulsiones lipidicas. Recientemente el genero ha sido revisado y ampliado a siete especies: m: furfur, m.Pachydermatis, m. Sympodialis, m.Globosa, m.Obtusa,m.Restricta y m.Slooffiae. En la presente memoria de tesis doctoral se ha estudiado la incidencia de las levaduras del genero malassezia en el conducto auditivo externo de perros y gatos, asi como en distintas zonas corporales de los caballos y rumiantes domesticos. Para ello se han analizado 444 animales procedentes del hospital clinic veterinari y del servei de granges i camps experimentals de la universitat autonoma de barcelona, y de diversas clinicas veterinarias de la provincia de barcelona. se tomaron muestras de los conductos auditivos externos de 188 perros y 17 gatos que se les diagnostic\u00f3 clinicamente una otitis externa, y de 76 perros y 51 gatos que no presentaban esta patolog\u00eda. Asimismo, se tomaron muestras de distintas zonas corporales tales como axilas, ingles, dorso, mama, ano y conductos auditivos externos de 50 caballos, 25 cabras, 25 ovejas y 12 vacas. Ninguno de estos animales presentaba algun tipo de patolog\u00eda dermica. Por otro lado, con la finalidad de hallar un buen metodo que permitiera un mantenimiento prolongado y adecuado de las levaduras del genero malassezia, se estudiaron distintos metodos de conservaci\u00f3n.
