A pesar de su importancia economica, esta especie no ha sido objeto de estudiar geneticos detallados ni se han desarrollado planes de mejora a nivel mundial. El principal objetivo de esta tesis se desarrollar las herramientas geneticas necesarias para establecer las bases de futuros planes de mejora. En primer lugar se han obtenido marcadores moleculares ligados a los genes que controlan el sistema de apareamiento, y que han servido para complementos estudiar clasicos sobre el control de apareamiento tambien se ha obtenido el cariotipo molecular de p. Ostreatus, relevando la presencia de once cromosomas por genomio hapbida, con un tama\u00f1o total de 35,1 bib. Finalmente se ha obtenido un mapa de ligamiento basado en marcadores bioquimicos, moleculares y funcionales.
