La sp-a est\u00e1 implicada en la respuesta inmune innata o no espec\u00edfica en el pulm\u00f3n y en el ensamblaje, integridad y actividad tensoactiva del material lipoproteico que cubre la superficie alveolar-surfactante pulmonar-que evita el colapso de los alveolos al reducirse su \u00e1rea durante la espiraci\u00f3n. los objetivos del presente proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n fueron 1) el an\u00e1lisis de los mecanismos de interacci\u00f3n de la sp-a con bicapas y monocapas de fosfol\u00edpidos del surfactante y 2) el estudio del proceso de autoagregaci\u00f3n de esta prote\u00edna en distintas condiciones fisiol\u00f3gicas.  los resultados obtenidos aportan nueva informaci\u00f3n respecto a: la selectividad de uni\u00f3n del la sp-a por determinados fosfol\u00edpidos presentes en soluci\u00f3n en ves\u00edculas unilamelares o en monocapas en la interfase aire-l\u00edquido; las fuerzas implicadas en la interacci\u00f3n de sp-a con dipalmitoilfosfatidilco\u00edna (dppc), fosfol\u00edpido mayoritario del surfactante; los requerimientos i)de concentraci\u00f3n de ca2+,ii) de fuerza i\u00f3nica, iii) ph y iv)de determinantes estructurales de la sp-a para que se produzca la agregaci\u00f3n de membranas inducida por dicho prote\u00edna, proceso que se lleva a cabo durante la ruta exoc\u00edtica y posterior metabolismo intraalveolar del surfactante. Adem\u00e1s, hemos determinado el efecto de la uni\u00f3n de l\u00edpidos sobre la estructura secundaria de la sp-a y su susceptibilidad frente a proteasas en las distintas condiciones fisiol\u00f3gicas que la prote\u00edna se puede encontrar en su compartimento intracelular y extracelular. Finalmente hemos analizado los distintos mecanismos de autoagregaci\u00f3n de la sp-a y sugerimos que la sp-a debe unirse a l\u00edpidos, carbohidratos y superficies celulares en el espacio alveolar
