A lo largo de los ultimos siglos ha desaparecido del centro y norte de europa quedando confinada a ocupar paredes rocosas costeras o de interior. La escasa accesibilidad a las mismas ha dificultado mucho el conocimiento de su biolog\u00eda reproductora. La presente memoria pretende: profundizar en el conocimiento de su biolog\u00eda reproductora, analizar la estrategia reproductora (diacronia de eclosion) y, establecer alguna relacion entre su desaparacion y la modificacion del habitat, utilizando la transformacion agraria llevada a cabo en la zona.  el estudio se realiz\u00f3 en los monegros (ne de la peninsula iberica). La zona se caracteriza por el escaso poblamiento humano, una agricultura de baja intensidad de secano y pastoreo. El clima es continental semiarido con escasas precipitaciones y una gran oscilaci\u00f3n termica. Durante las temporadas reproductoras (de febrero a junio) de 1993 a 1998 se siguio la poblacion reproductora del area, utilizando 27 parejas focales. Se capturaron los adultos al inicio y final de la reproduccion.  se presentan los resultados referentes a la biolog\u00eda reproductora desde el emparejamiento de los adultos reproductores y la ubicaci\u00f3n de los nidos en edificaciones abandonadas hasta el \u00e9xito reproductor final. Evaluando tambien los costes que suponen para los adultos, tasas de alimentacion del macho a la hembra y de los progenitores a los pollos, y la alimentacion y crecimiento de los pollos.  la chova piquirroja inicia la incubaci\u00f3n con el tercer huevo (tama\u00f1o de puesta modal de 5) lo que produce dos grupos de pollos: los tres primeros inician su desarrollo a la vez (sincronicos) y el resto en dias sucesivos (diacronicos). Se comparan los dos grupos de pollos para ver si existen diferencias en la supervivecia o el crecimiento y contrastar asi las hip<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
