Debido a su gran capacidad regenerativa las planarias han sido largamente utilizadas para el estudio de este aspecto del desarrollo. A lo largo de su historia, el estudio de la regeneraci\u00f3n de planaria ha planteado 3 cuestiones fundamentales: cual es el origen de las celulas del blastema? Como se diferencian los diferentes tipos celulares dentro del blastema ?, Y , como se restituye el patr\u00f3n corporal?. Aunque se han realizado numerosos trabajos a nivel ultraestructural, hace relativamente poco tiempo que sehan aplicado aproximaciones claramente moleculares para resolver este problema biol\u00f3gico. Por tanto, hay pocos estudios que analizen la diferenciacion celular de tipos individuales utilizando marcadores moleculares especificos.  con el objetivo de suplir esta falta de informaci\u00f3n hemos estudiado la diferenciacion muscular durante la regeneraci\u00f3n y renovaci\u00f3n celular de la musculatura corporal y far\u00edngea utilizando marcadores moleculares especificos: 1) tmus-13, un anticuerpo monoclonal previamente aislado en nuestro grupo y especifico de fibras musculares y miocitos en diferenciaci\u00f3n; 2)gtmch, un gen de la cadena pesada de la miosina especifico de la musculatura faringea; 3)smmhc, un gen de la cadena pesada de la miosina especifico de la musculatura corporal, y 4) smhlh-1, un hom\u00f3logo en planaria de la familia myod de factores de transcripci\u00f3n miog\u00e9nicos.  las planarias tienen una musculatura corporal compleja constituida por 4 capas de fibras musculares subepid\u00e9rmicas (una capa externa de fibras circulares, una capa de fibras longitudinales, una capa de fibras diagonales, y finalmente, una capa interna de fibras longitudinales). Este patr\u00f3n muscular complejo se encuentra en las superficies dorsal y ventral, las cuales est\u00e1n concectadas por numerosas fibras dorsoventrales.
