Al comienzo de nuestro trabajo no se hab\u00eda identificado ning\u00fan homol\u00f3go de la prote\u00edna e2f en plantas, y por lo tanto, se desconoc\u00eda si este mecanismo tambi\u00e9n operaba en la c\u00e9lula vegetal.  en esta tesis doctoral, hemos obtenido datos sobre identificaci\u00f3n, clonaci\u00f3n y caracterizaci\u00f3n del cdna (tme2f) que codifica un hom\u00f3logo e2f de trigo (triticum monococcum) y que interacciona con el hom\u00f3logo rb en plantas, zmrb1 (rbr). Tambi\u00e9n presentamos datos sobre la clonaci\u00f3n del cdna (tmdp) que codifica el hom\u00f3logo dp de trigo, como pareja heterodim\u00e9rica de tme2f. tme2f y tmdp son los primeros miembros de la familia de factores de transcripci\u00f3n e2f identificados en plantas. Por \u00faltimo, hemos estudiado la interacci\u00f3n del complejo tme2f\/tmdp con secuencias de dna presentes en promotores de genes potencialmente regulados en g1\/s.  nuestros estudios preliminares apoyan la idea de que los mecanismos moleculares b\u00e1sicos de regulaci\u00f3n de la transici\u00f3n g1\/s basados en la ruta rb\/e2f en animales y plantas est\u00e1n funcionalmente conservados. Adem\u00e1s, la disponibilidad del factor e2f\/dp proporciona nuevas herramientas de trabajo, que junto con el an\u00e1lisis gen\u00f3mico de plantas modelo (a. Thaliana, arroz) permitir\u00e1n la identificaci\u00f3n de genes regulados por e2f\/dp y ayudar\u00e1n a entender como se regula el crecimiento y el desarrollo de la
