Carmen <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Lesihumania es un protozoo par\u00e1sito de vertebrados, incluido  el hombre, en los que origina cuadros cl\u00ednicos muy diversos denominados gen\u00e9ricamente lishmaniasis. Este par\u00e1sito perteneciente a la familia de los tripanosom\u00e1tidos, presenta dos formas morfol\u00f3gicas bien diferenciadas: el promastigote que se desarrolla en el interior del tubo digestivo del artr\u00f3podo vector (flebotomo), y el amstigote, que parasita c\u00e9lulas del sitema ret\u00edculo-endotelial del hospedador vertebrado.  los amstigotes del complejo mexicana, presentan en su citoplasma un org\u00e1nulo lisos\u00f3mico denominado megasoma, en el que se localiza la ciste\u00edna prteinasa objeto de nuestro estudio. Esta prote\u00edna est\u00e1 implicada en la capacidad invasiva y de supervivencia del par\u00e1sito por lo que consideramos interesante estudiar su papel enla interacci\u00f3n par\u00e1sito-hospedador.  en primer lugar se ha definido la ciste\u00edna-proteinasa como una de las posibles dianas nautales del \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico (no) y per\u00f3xido de ox\u00edgeno (h2o2), los principales compuestos leishmanicidas producidos por los macr\u00f3fagos infectados, ya que ambos compuestos reducen significativamente la actividad proteol\u00edtica de este enzima.  por otro lado, se ha establecido que la ciste\u00edna-proteinasa mayoritaria de l. Pifanoi altera la capacidad de los macr\u00f3fagos para actuar como c\u00e9lulas presentadoras de ant\u00edgeno.
