Esta resistencia denominada de tipo hipersensible(hr) se caracteriza por ser un proceso de defensa activo frente a la infecci\u00f3n viral, localizando el virus en los sitios de infecci\u00f3n o en c\u00e9lulas adyacentes y es la consecuencia de la interacci\u00f3n entre genes presentes en el hospedador(genes de resistencia o r) y en el pat\u00f3geno (genes de avirulencia o avr). En el trabajo que se ha desarrollado hemos indentificado que los factores virales de los tobamovirus, el virus del mosaico suave de la p\u00e1prika (pammv), la cepa espa\u00f1ola del virus del mosaico suave del pimiento (pmmov-s) y la cepa italiana del mismo virus(pmmov-i), inductores de la resistencia en plantas de c.Frutescens(l2l2), c.Chinense (l3l3) y c.Chacoense(l4l4) son las prote\u00ednas de cubierta (cps) de los virus. Se ha determinado el alto grado de especificidad que existe enla interacci\u00f3n de estas cps con los genes l mediante el estudio de sintomatolog\u00eda desarrollada en las plantas inoculadas y de la inducci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas asociadas a la defensa vegetal, siempre compar\u00e1ndolas con el desarrollo de las infecciones en plantas inoculadas con los tobamovirus completos. Se ha determinado que, una vez que se induc\u00eda la resistencia, los virus quimera eran incapaces de moverse sist\u00e9micamente e infectar hojas diferentes a las inoculadas. As\u00ed mismo, se ha estudiado, mediante la clonaci\u00f3n de las cps en un vector de expresi\u00f3n transitoria en plantas la inducci\u00f3n de la muerte celular y de la expresi\u00f3n de genes asociados a la respuesta de resistencia cuando las cps se expresaban en los hu\u00e9spedes adecuados(cp de pammv en c.Frutescens, cp de pmmov-s en c.Chinense y cp de pmmov-i en c.Chacoense).  el
