Esta t\u00e9cnica presenta una mayor sensibilidad sin p\u00e9rdida aparente de especificidad.  se ha empleado la t\u00e9cnica de inmunodetecci\u00f3n en la evaluaci\u00f3n de los animales sometidos a tratamiento quimioter\u00e1pico, encontr\u00e1ndose una correlaci\u00f3n entre los ant\u00edgenos parasitarios de 26 y 34-35. 4 kda del par\u00e1sito y la presentaci\u00f3n de un cuadro cl\u00ednico agudo lo que apunta a su valor en el seguimiento de perros infectados y medicados.  se ha estudiado el modelo dicot\u00f3mico en la respuesta inmunitaria en la leishmaniosis canina mostrando los animales infectados pero asintom\u00e1ticos una clara respuesta celular y bajos niveles de anticuerpos mientras los animales sintom\u00e1ticos exhibieron altos niveles de anticuerpos y ausencia de respuesta linfoproliferativa y producci\u00f3n de interferon-gamma. Los perros asintom\u00e1ticos presentaron anticuerpos igg2 frente  a los ant\u00edgenos de 67 y 45 kda mientras los animales sintom\u00e1ticos mostraron un reconocimiento dellant\u00edgeno de 67 kda
