Hemos caracterizado la existencia de una alta expresion y un activo procesamiento de distintas isoformas del bapp en celulas gliales, procesamiento que es diferente al observado en otros tipos celulares.  ademas las celulas de glia producen y liberan al medio extracelular el peptido b-a4 durante su normal metabolismo.  nuestros datos sugieren un importnate papel de las celulas gliales en el
