El presente trabajo experimental estudia los transportadores de adenosina tanto a nivel periferico como a nivel del snc.  1. A nivel perif\u00e9rico, los objetivos principales planteados han sido: a)demostrar la existencia de transportadores de nucl\u00e9osidos en mitocondria de testiculo de rata, y b) demostrar que estos transportadores incorporan [3h] adenosina. se han realizado ensayos de uni\u00f3n con [3h]nbti en mitocondr\u00eda de testiculo de rata que han demostrado la existencia de lugares de uni\u00f3n de alta afinidad para este radioligando,siendo la uni\u00f3n desplazada por inhibidores cl\u00e1sicos del transporte de nucle\u00f3sidos. Este sistema de incorporaci\u00f3n de [3h] adenosina se clasifica dentro del grupo de los procesos de transporte de nucle\u00f3sidos de tipo equilibrativo (ent), estan constituido por un unico componente saturable que sigue una cl\u00e1sica cin\u00e9tica del tipo michaelis-menten, saturable, dependiente de la temperatura, independiente de la concentraci\u00f3n del ion na+, del ph y de la osmolaridad del medio de incubaci\u00f3n demostrando ser alta afinidad para la adenosina. Este sistema es altamente sensible a hnbtg (hidroxinitrobenzil-tioguanosina) y, en la preparaci\u00f3n motivo de estudio, aparentemente insensible a nbti, aunque posee lugares de uni\u00f3n de alta afinidad para [3h] nbti.  2. A nivel del snc, la adenosina es un potente agente neuroprotector end\u00f3geno. en el presente trabajo se ha estudiado el papel de los transportadores de adenosina equilibrados (ent) en el modelo de neurodegeneraci\u00f3n por d-metanfetamina (meth) en estriado, hipocampo, cerebelo y c\u00f3rtex de ratas tratadas con esta substancia.
