Sobre estos feles se han realizado un profundo estudio (equilibrio y cin\u00e9tica) de la retenci\u00f3n de metales pesados de inter\u00e9s medioambiental y econ\u00f3mico a partir de disoluciones mono y multicomponentes.  pero uno de lso principales atractivos de estos compuestos es la posibilidad de incluir una segunda fase en la estructura geliforme para la separaci\u00f3n de diversos solutos de la fase gneral. En este sentido, se ha llevado a cabo la preparaci\u00f3n y el estudio (equilibrio y cin\u00e9tica) de la retenci\u00f3n de cobre sobre geles mixtos alginato+edta y alginato+resina y de la adsorci\u00f3n de fenol sobre feles mixtos alginato+carb\u00f3n activo y alginato +resina adsorbente, analizando a su vez el efecto de la cantidad de agente activo inmovilizado sobre la cantidad de soluto recuperada.Finalmente, ante una posible aplicaci\u00f3n indutrial de estos sistemas, se ha estudiado su regeneraci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de la eluci\u00f3n de las especies cargadas y posterior
