Lourdes <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El trabajo mencionado ha consistido en la caracterizacion de diversas propiedades opticas de los iones de tierra rara erbio y tulio en matrices monocristalinas de niobato de litio (linbo3). Las propiedades opticas abordadas incluyen principalmente absorcion optica y luminiscencia, en el ultimo caso se abarcan aspectos variados como luminiscencia en continuo o bajo excitacion pulsada. El cuerpo de informacion experimental obtenido constituye una importante aportacion novedosa a la literatura cientifica, ya que la misma no aparecia adecuadamente descrita. En lo referente al analisis y tratamiento teorico de esta informacion, se presenta una descripcion novedosa basada en la teoria de judd-ofelt, para la descripcion y calculo de probabilidades de transicion de iones de tierra rara adaptada a materiales anisotropos, como es el caso del niobato litio. Tambien se ha estudiado la repercusion en las propiedades opticas de los iones de tierra rara, la adicion de codopantes (mg, zn) inhibidoras del efecto fotorrefractivo del niobato de litio. Por ultimo se incluye la descripcion de algunos efectos cooperativos, tales como transferencia de energia o conversion de energia ir-vis (\u00ab\u00bbup-conversion).
