La caracterizacion del conocimiento previo se realiza a traves de una diferenciacion a priori entre individuos expertos e inexpertos mientras que la similitud entre alternativas se define en funcion de la variabilidad de los valores de las caracteristicas que definen a las alternativas. Asimismo se definen y delimitan dimensiones relevantes de las estrategias de decision y la calidad de la decision, haciendo un especial hincapie en el concepto de calidad del proceso de decision. Partiendo de este esquema conceptual se plantea un dise\u00f1o experimental y se utiliza una herramienta informatica que permite simular y registrar el proceso de adquisicion de informacion dise\u00f1ada especialmente para la investigacion, y denominada sspd. Tras una aplicaci\u00f3n al problema de selecci\u00f3n de un prestamo hipotecario, se constatan unos efectos generalizados e importantes de la experiencia sobre las dimensiones dependientes
