Por tanto, cabe suponer que presenten alteraciones en los mecanismos que controlan la proliferaci\u00f3n en condiciones normales. En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se han producido grandes avances en el conocimiento de la mol\u00e9culas que intervienen en este complejo sistema de control.En el punto de chequeo de g1 participan, entre otras, dos prote\u00ednas de efectos antag\u00f3nicos, p53 que bloquea el ciclo o induce paotosis en respuesta a lesi\u00f3n del dna, y ciclina d1 que activa a las quinasas cdk4 y cdk6 haciendo que la c\u00e9lula supere elpunto de chequeo de g1 o punto de restricci\u00f3n y se encamine hacia la fase s.  en este trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n, realizado en biopsias de pacientes diagnosticados de carcinoma escamoso (62) o displasia (25) d elaringe, hemos analizado la presencia de las mencionadas prote\u00ednas, p583 y ciclina d1, mediante inmunohistoqu\u00edmica. De los resultados obtenidos se desprende que existe una correlaci\u00f3n estad\u00edsticamente signficiativa entre la presencia de p53 y una menor supervivencia en los carcinomas.Sin embargo, en la muestra analizada, la presencia de ciclina d1 no ha probado tner un valor pron\u00f3stico. en conclusi\u00f3n, p53 ser\u00eda un indicador valioso a la hora de predecir la evoluci\u00f3n de los carcinomas escamosos lar\u00edngeos.
