Los resultados m\u00e1s relevantes han sido el descubrimiento de que:  las alteraciones estructurales en el adn tienen un efecto directo en la incidencia y en los mecanismos de recombinaci\u00f3n, como se deduce del hecho de que las mutaciones afectadas en transcripci\u00f3n y estructura del adn spt4-3,spt6-140,spt2  y hta1-htb1   , causan diferentes grados de hiperrecombinacion entre repeticiones directas e invertidas y un aumento en la proporci\u00f3n de tramos largos de conversi\u00f3n genica y de la asociaci\u00f3n a inversiones respecto al silvestre.  la recombinaci\u00f3n entre repeticiones invertidas puede producirse tanto por un mecanismo de conversi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica dependiente de los genes rad51,rad52,rad54,rad55,rad57, como por un mecanismo dependiente de los genes rad1,rad52,rad59.  la transcripci\u00f3n y las mutaciones spt estimulan la recombinaci\u00f3n independiente de rad51p.  los mutantes hipo-rec en fondo rad51 spt6-140 aislados en esta tesis confirman la asociaci\u00f3n de los fenotipos de hiperrecombinaci\u00f3n, aumento de la proporci\u00f3n de conversi\u00f3n de tramo largo y disminuci\u00f3n de la dependencia de rad51p de los mutantes spt6-140.  la estimulaci\u00f3n de la recombinaci\u00f3n en los mutantes spt6-140 es producida por defectos en elongaci\u00f3n de la transcripci\u00f3n de la secuencia donadora, un fen\u00f3meno que tambi\u00e9n se observa en los mutantes ppr2   ,afectados en elongaci\u00f3n de la transcripci\u00f3n.  las inversiones no requieren la formaci\u00f3n de estructuras de holliday, sino que se producen
