Jose <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La tetralina es un compuesto recalcitrante formado por un anillo arom\u00e1tico y otro alic\u00edclico, los cuales comparten dos \u00e1tomos de carbono. Este contaminante es t\u00f3xico e inhibe el crecimiento microbiano.  la estirpe tfa fue aislada de los fangos del rin y seleccionada por su capacidad de crecer en tretalina como \u00fanica fuente de carbono y energ\u00eda. esta fue la estirpe que se utilizo en esta tesis para caracterizar la ruta de degradaci\u00f3n de la tetralina.  en esta tesis, se ha determinado el grupo taxon\u00f3mico al que pertenece tfa. tambi\u00e9n se ha caracterizado las fuentes de carbono y de nitr\u00f3geno que utiliza. en cultivos liquidos con tetralina se determin\u00f3 la temperatura \u00f3ptima de crecimiento y el intervalo de ph al que pod\u00eda crecer.  por otra parte se observ\u00f3 la gran capacidad de tfa de introducir adn for\u00e1neo tanto por conjugaci\u00f3n como por electroporaci\u00f3n.  utilizando mutantes polares y no polares se determin\u00f3 que los genes implicados en la ruta de degradaci\u00f3n de la tetralina se encontraban dispuestos en dos operones divergentes. Cuando se secuenci\u00f3 un fragmento de unas 15 kb se encontr\u00f3 12 pautas abiertas de lectura completas, las cuales se parec\u00edan a genes implicados en rutas de degradaci\u00f3n de compuestos arom\u00e1ticos.  se caracteriz\u00f3 cada uno de los intermediarios que se produc\u00edan en la ruta de degradaci\u00f3n de la tetralina. El resultado mostr\u00f3 que con tan s\u00f3lo los productos de estos genes se realiza la degradaci\u00f3n del anillo arom\u00e1tico y del anillo alic\u00edclico de la tetralina. Esto es produce mediante dos pasos enzim\u00e1ticos consecutivos, la dioxigenasa extradi\u00f3lica abre el anillo arom\u00e1tico y en el paso siguiente la hidrolasa abre el anillo alic\u00edclico.
