Sin embargo, los procesos que conducen a su crecimiento cristalino no estan del todo establecidos.  los principales problemas que aparecen en el crecimiento en volumen de las aleaciones hg-mn-vi son los asociados con las inhomogeneidades, la alta presion de vapor de mercurio y la oxidacion del manganeso.  en la presente tesis se sugieren metodos alternativos a los propuestos por otros autores, basados en proceso a baja temperatura y de desplazamiento de zona disolvente, que reducen sustancialmente estas dificultades.  los materiales asi obtenidos fueron caracterizados mediante una serie de tecnicas que incluyeron: microscopia electronica, difraccion de rayos x, absorci\u00f3n optica, medidas de efecto hall y suceptibilidad magnetica. el conjunto de resultados obtenidos de su
