Este es liberado junto con el glutamato tras estimulaci\u00f3n y puede modular distintos tipos de receptores. En concreto, la inhibici\u00f3n por zinc de receptores nmda podr\u00eda representar el papel de este cati\u00f3n en el control de la excitaci\u00f3n, sugiriendo una posible acci\u00f3n neuroprotectora del zinc.  el objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar si el secuestro de zinc (dedtc, 150 mg\/kg) en condiciones de sobreexcitaci\u00f3n no lesiva inducidas por \u00e1cido ka\u00ednico (ak. 15 mg\/kg) es capaz de desencadenar da\u00f1o neuronal en el hipocampo del rat\u00f3n. Los resultados de este trabajo demuestran que aunque ni el ak ni el dedtc desencadenan por si solos da\u00f1o neuronal, el tratamiento combinado de ambos (ak + 15 min. Dedtc) induce da\u00f1o neuronal en hilas, regi\u00f3n ca3 y regi\u00f3n ca1. Esto demostrar\u00eda el papel protector del zinc en condiciones de sobreexcitaci\u00f3n. El papel que juega el secuestro de zinc en el disparo de la lesi\u00f3n es fundamental, al eliminar la inhibici\u00f3n que ejerce este cati\u00f3n liberado desde las fibras musgosas sobre los receptores nmda los receptores nmda son claves en el disparo de la lesi\u00f3n. La propagaci\u00f3n de la lesi\u00f3n a la regi\u00f3n ca1 es, sin embargo, dependiente de receptores amda.  de acuerdo con nuestros resultados se puede concluir que el zinc ejerce un efecto neuromodulador en condiciones de excitabilidad fisiol\u00f3gicas, que se traduce en un papel neuroprotector bajo condiciones de sobreexcitaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de
