Asimismo se realiz\u00f3 trabajo de campo de recoleci\u00f3n en las principales \u00e1reas de procedencia de los materiales de herbario. Se recorrieron unos 25.000 kms en viajes de herborizaci\u00f3n.  el estudio taxon\u00f3mico y filogen\u00e9tico supuso el manejo de diversas t\u00e9cnicas auxiliares modernas: se hicieron estudios palinol\u00f3gicos, cariol\u00f3gicos y fitoqu\u00edmicos de tosas las especies reconocidas. Incluso con algunas se intent\u00f3 un estudio del dnar para buscar argumentos que completasen el an\u00e1lisis filogen\u00e9tico, pero s\u00f3lo se pudo hacer con unas pocas especies.  el g\u00e9nero consta en total de 19 especies, 12 de ellas ya conocidas y 7 que han resultado nuevas para la ciencia.  se ha realizado un an\u00e1lisis clad\u00edstico con una matriz de datos morfol\u00f3gicos extensa, para buscar relaciones filogen\u00e9ticas entre los distintos taxones. adem\u00e1s de elabor\u00f3 un cladograma con las \u00e1reas de distribuci\u00f3n conocidas de las 19 especies para intentar perfilar lo que pudo ser el \u00ab\u00e1rea ancestral\u00bb del g\u00e9nero.  en resumen, se trata de un estudio taxon\u00f3mico completo y actualizado, donde se recogen, desde luego, las descripciones, la iconograf\u00eda, la ecolog\u00eda y la distribuci\u00f3n de cada una de las especies reconocidas en el g\u00e9nero.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
