En la actualidad, numerosos grupos de investigaci\u00f3n en todo el mundo est\u00e1n llevando a cabo prospecciones con la finalidad de que estos produzcan substancias de potencial uso en terap\u00e9utica humana y animal. Sin embargo, los acomicetos han sido escasamente investigados. La principal dificultad de su estudio radica en que es necesario \u00abactivar\u00bb sus ascosporas, para que estas puedan germinar en medios de cultivo artificial.  los objetivos del presente trabajo fueron:  * ensayar diferentes t\u00e9cnicas de activaci\u00f3n de ascosporas presentes en muestras de suelo, proponiendo modificaciones de algunas de ellas para su optimizaci\u00f3n.  * seleccionar una o m\u00e1s t\u00e9cnicas que permitan evidenciar la diversidad biol\u00f3gica real de las muestras de tierra.  * empleando dichas t\u00e9cnicas, contribuir al conocimiento taxon\u00f3mico de los miembros de la divisi\u00f3n ascomycota presentes en distintos tipos de suelos, especialmente los de zonas tropicales y subtropicales.  en el presente trabajo se han evaluado cinco t\u00e9cnicas de activaci\u00f3n: la activaci\u00f3n por claor (choque t\u00e9rmico), por acci\u00f3n del etanol 60-70% v\/v, del \u00e1cido ac\u00e9tico 5% v\/v del 2-furfuraldehido 10-3 m y de la acetona (dimetilcetona).  durante tres a\u00f1os se han estudiado 1820 muestras procedentes de 18 pa\u00edses y de las islas shetland del sur (regi\u00f3n insular de la ant\u00e1rtida), identific\u00e1ndose 164 especies de ascomicetos pertenecientes a 66 g\u00e9neros, 14 de las cu\u00e1les resultaron ser nuevas para la ciencia.  la  secuencia de la regi\u00f3n its-rdna y su posterior an\u00e1lisis filogen\u00e9tico se aplicaron en la resoluci\u00f3n de varios problemas taxon\u00f3micos. Se concluye que la secuenciaci\u00f3n de diha regi\u00f3n es la de utilidad para el estudio de las relaciones evolutiva a nivel de g\u00e9nero y familia,pero tiene un valor relativo para solventar la
