El consumo energ\u00e9tico y la controlabilidad son las propiedades a las que se ha dado mayor importancia. La dwc es un arreglo complejo no convencional muy atractivo desde un punto de vista energ\u00e9tico. Pero debido a su complejidad, es raramente considerado en la industria. Su estudio ha sido la principal contribuci\u00f3n de la tesis.  las principales conclusiones de la tesis son:  * estabilizaci\u00f3n, control de composiciones y control de las condiciones de operaci\u00f3n \u00f3ptimas en la dwc pueden conseguirse con control descentralizado de retroaliemntaci\u00f3n, implementado a trav\u00e9s de lazos de control proporcional-integral.  * la complejidad de la dwc ofrece posibles dise\u00f1os y puntos de operaci\u00f3n que son muy intersantes desde un punto de vista de control.  * la dwc estabiliza por los flujos en los productos de cabeza y fondo tiene una alta direccionalidad y interacci\u00f3n. No obstante:  &#8211; operando a condiciones no \u00f3ptimas, la controlabilidad de la dwc mejora  &#8211; usando un dise\u00f1o no \u00f3ptimo de la dwc, la controlabilidad mejora.  * la dwc estabilizada por el reflujo y el boilup tiene \u00edndices de controlabilidad muy buenos.  * la dwc es m\u00e1s competitiva cuando est\u00e1 cosntruida con un gran n\u00famero de platos.  * la dwc
