Por otra parte, dentro de las ciencias de la computaci\u00f3n se conoce que las t\u00e9cnicas difusas son herramientas \u00fatiles para abordar problemas con esas caracter\u00edsticas; por tanto, se ha propuesto en esta tesis abordar el estudio del impacto que producir\u00e1 un proyecto dado, empleando t\u00e9cnicas difusas.  para ello, se inicia conuna descripci\u00f3n del problema de evaluaci\u00f3n de impacto ambiental y de la metodolog\u00eda actualmente empleada para resolverlo, conel fin de detectar en qu\u00e9 puntos puede esperarse que las t\u00e9cnicas difusas aporten una mejora. A partir de all\u00ed se plantea un modelo gen\u00e9rico de impacto ambiental que emplee t\u00e9cnicas difusas.  al intentar implementar ese modelo con las t\u00e9cnicas tradicionales (sistemas basados en reglas) se descubre que no es posible, debido al alt\u00edsimo costo computacional resultante. Por ello, en esta tesis se propone un nuevo tipo de sistemas de computaci\u00f3n con palabras basados en aritm\u00e9tica difusa. Estos sistemas se apoyan en un conjunto de algorimos de extensi\u00f3nde funciones crisp a n\u00fameros difusos, que tambien se constituyen una parte te\u00f3rica de esta tesis.  se ha construido una herramienta de software para implementar el modelo difuso propuesto. Con esta herramienta se ha estudiado un caso de aplicaci\u00f3n real, y se han comparado  sus resultados con los obtenidos con las t\u00e9cnicas convencionales, encontr\u00e1ndose evidentes
