Tiene la capacidad de absorberse sobre electrodo de mercurio, lo que posibilita la formaci\u00f3n de un electrodo modificado de mc. Este electrodo modificado se puede usar con fines anal\u00edticos y se ha llevado a cabo la determinaci\u00f3n de mc en medio acuoso tamponado y en muestras de orina. Mc inhibe la s\u00ednnesis del adn. Se han estudiado las interacciones mc-adn en la superficie del electrodo de mercurio tras producirse la activaci\u00f3n de mc en medio \u00e1cido y por medio electr\u00f3dico.
