Por su parte, las interneuronas gaba\u00e9rgicas tambi\u00e9n recien terminaciones dopamin\u00e9rgicas desde el \u00e1rea tegmental ventral y terminaciones glutamat\u00e9rgicas de las neuronas piramidales. Por tanto, en la corteza prefrontal existe una base neuroanat\u00f3mica y neuroqu\u00edmica que sugiere que la interacci\u00f3n entre los neurotransmisores glutamato, dopamina y gaba juega un papel importante en la actividad de esta \u00e1rea del cerebro. En la presente tesis doctoral se presentan una serie de estudios experimentales sobre la interacci\u00f3n entre glutamato, dopamina y gaba en la corteza prefrontal. Para ello se utiliz\u00f3 la t\u00e9cnica de microdi\u00e1lisis intracerebral in vivo que permite medir concentraciones ante diferentes tratamientos farmacol\u00f3gicos y\/o conductuales. el objetivo del primer bloque experimental fue estudiar el efecto de la activaci\u00f3n de los receptores glutamat\u00e9rgicos ionotr\u00f3picos nmda y ampa sobre la liberaci\u00f3n de gaba y glutamato en la corteza prefrontal de la rata despierta. el objetivo del segundo bloque experimental fue estudiar primero, el efecto de un aumento en la concentraci\u00f3n end\u00f3gena de dopamina sobre las concentraciones extracelulares de gaba y glutamato en la corteza prefrontal de la rata despierta. El objetivo del tercer bloque experimental fue investigar el efecto de la activaci\u00f3n de los receptores glutamat\u00e9rgicos ionotr\u00f3picos nmda y ampa sobre la liberaci\u00f3n de dopamina basal y estimulada por estr\u00e9s en la corteza prefrontal de la rata despierta.
