As\u00ed pues, se han considerado diferentes par\u00e1metros tales como la humedad y temperatura y diferentes procesos qu\u00edmicos tales como la conversi\u00f3n de los compuestos hidratados del cemento,la carbonataci\u00f3n y la presencia de iones cloruros, con el fin de investigar sus efectos sobre la corrosi\u00f3n de los aceros.  con el fin de cubrir la mayor\u00eda de las alternativas que pueden utilizarse como refuerzo del hormig\u00f3n, se han usado barras de acero al carbono, inoxidable y galvanizado en algunas experiencias. En todos los casos, los resultados obtenidos con cac se han comparado con los de pastas de opc obtenidos con experiencias paralelas o tomados de la literatura especializada.  el trabajo experimental se plante\u00f3 a tres niveles.El primero para caracterizar los procesos de intercambio i\u00f3nico que ocurren cuando el acero se correo en un mediosimilar al de la fase fluida intersticial de los hormigones. conjuntamente con ello se estudi\u00f3 el efecto de bloqueo que proporcionan pel\u00edculas org\u00e1nicas (pol\u00edemros de fenol) depositadas sobre la superficie del acero.  el segundo nivel tuvo el prop\u00f3sito de estudiar el efecto de una serie de par\u00e1metros sobre la corrosi\u00f3n de armaduras embebidas en morteros de cac, principalmente el espesor de recubrimiento, relaci\u00f3n a\/c, humedad, conversi\u00f3n, carbonataci\u00f3n y presencia de cloruros. La tercera serie de experimentos de realiz\u00f3 para estudiar el efecto a largo plazo de una continua e intensa corosi\u00f3n en el acero sobre la integridad de piezas de mortero
