Pues bien, en este trabajo de tesis se han realizado c\u00e1lculos pioneros de los tiempos de vida de resonancias y estados imagen en superifices de metales simples y nobles, haciendo uso de formalismo de autoenerg\u00eda en el marco de la teor\u00eda cu\u00e1ntica de muchos cuerpos, y se ha presentado un an\u00e1lisis detallado del impacto tanto de la estructura de bandas como de efectos de canje y correlaci\u00f3n en el proceso de relajacion de los estados imagen.  en la segunda parte de la memoria se presenta un an\u00e1lisis te\u00f3rico de los llamados efectos cu\u00e1nticos de tama\u00f1o en l\u00e1minas delgadas, cuyo origen se encuentra en la cuantizaci\u00f3n de la componente de la energ\u00eda en la direcci\u00f3n perpendicular a la superificie. En particular, se investiga el impacto de la cuntizaci\u00f3n tanto en la funci\u00f3n de trabajo como en la energ\u00eda de superficie, todo ello en el marco del modelo del gelatinio estabilizado. este modelo, el cual no es sino una generalizaci\u00f3n del conocido modelo del gelatinio al que se a\u00f1ade un potencial constante estabilizador del s\u00f3lido, ya hab\u00eda sido empleado en los
