En primer lugar, se facilita una panor\u00e1mica del estudio de la met\u00e1fora: la pregunta por su significado, verdad y referencia; las teor\u00edas de la met\u00e1fora; la evoluci\u00f3n en su estudio y explicaci\u00f3n(el paso de la metaf\u00f3ra como recurso ling\u00ed\u00bcistico a su consideraci\u00f3n como recurso conceptual); las aportaciones de distinta discipolinas(ling\u00ed\u00bc\u00edstica, inteligencia artifical, psicolinguistica, la filosof\u00eda de la ciencia); y las aproximaciones m\u00e1s netamente filos\u00f3ficas a la met\u00e1fora. Como colof\u00f3n de esta primera parte, se ofrecen algunas conclusiones sobre lo que ha supuesto la metafora en la compresi\u00f3n de la racionalidad. De este modo, el trabajo se centra en una de las cuestiones filos\u00f3ficas que la teor\u00eda contempor\u00e1nea se esfuerza por esclarecer:la compatibilidad entre creatividad y realismo. Con este marco previo se pasa a analizar la met\u00e1fora en arist\u00f3teles. primero, se aborda el tratamiento que ha recibido en la teor\u00eda contempor\u00e1nea y su adscripci\u00f3n a la \u00abteor\u00eda tradicional de la met\u00e1fora\u00bb y,a continuaci\u00f3n, se ahonda en la interpretaci\u00f3n que llev\u00f3 a cabo la tradici\u00f3n aristotelica retorica y filosofica.
