Se han secuenciado once nuevos alelos drb (ex\u00f3n 2, ex\u00f3n 3) a partir de cdna, y se ha visto que pertenecen a un n\u00famero limitado de linajes: drb1*03 (4alelos), drb1*07 (3 alelos), drb5 (1 alelo), drb*w6 (1 alelo) y drb*w7 (2 alelos). El hallazgo de 3 alelos drb1 en 3 individuos diferentes apoya la existencia de duplicaciones del gen ceae-drb1. Es posible que el alelo crb1*0701 no sea funcional, ya que lleva el amino\u00e1cido serina en la posici\u00f3n 82, que, seg\u00fan se ha demostrado en ratones evita la expresi\u00f3n de la mol\u00e9cula en superficie.  este alelo se ha encontrado s\u00f3lo en haplotipos conla duplicaci\u00f3nd e ceae-drb1*. El patr\u00f3n de cambios de base entre los alelos es consitente conla generaci\u00f3n de polimorfismo por mutaciones puntuales o intercambio de segmentos cortos. Los once alelos cumplen los requerimientos de funcionalidad como mol\u00e9culas presentadoras deant\u00edgenos (excepto, quiz\u00e1s, drb1* 0701), pues: 1) se han aislado a partir de cdna y no presentan deleciones, inserciones o dodones stop; 2) conservan los motivos estructurales necesarios para un correcto plegamiento de la mol\u00e9culas, para la formaci\u00f3n de los d\u00edmeros dr\/dr e interacci\u00f3n con cd4, y 3) el n\u00faemro de sustituciones no sin\u00f3nimas es superior al n\u00famero de sustituciones sin\u00f3nimas en la regi\u00f3n de uni\u00f3n al p\u00e9ptido, mientras
