Destaca el caso de javier mari\u00f1o, la figura fundamental de torrente.  -evolucion, a lo largo de los a\u00f1os, de las ideas de torente sobre politica, religion, literatura, sociedad, etc., Analizando para ello libros, menos conocidos, de critica, historia, ensayo y de articulos periodisticos.  el capitulo i se dedica al teatro, fundamental m\u00e1s que por su valor intrinseco por el hecho de que, en \u00e9l, est\u00e1n los fundamentos de algunas de sus novelas posteriores. Hay un analisis de los otros dramas.  en los capitulos ii y iii se comentan sus relatos, desde \u00abjavier mari\u00f1o\u00bb hasta \u00abla pascua triste\u00bb, etapa en la que torrente lleg\u00f3 a dominar lo que se ha llamado \u00abrealismo psicologico\u00bb. Es el momento de \u00ablos gozos y las sombras\u00bb, densa e importante trilogia.  el iv, destinado a \u00abdon juan\u00bb y a \u00aboff-side\u00bb, muestra al escritor gallego en sus a\u00f1os de plenitud, confirmada (v) por \u00abla saga\/fuga de j.B\u00bb y las dos siguientes novelas de la denominada \u00abtrilogia fantastica\u00bb.  los capitulos vi y vii muestran al novelista en epoca e intenso trabajo en la que aparecen obras de calidad junto a otras de menos valor como \u00abla princesa durmiente va a la escuela\u00bb, escrita muchos a\u00f1os antes. Se intenta ver como torrente mantiene algunos temas y personajes, y por otra parte, cultiva otros generos novelescos entonces de moda: ciencia-ficcion, historico, policiaco, etc.  el ultimo apartado
