Antonia <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El objetivo principal del trabajo desarrollado en la presente memoria de tesis doctoral ha sido la obtencion de polvos de mullita de elevada pureza y buena sinterabilidad a partir de una materia prima natural de bajo coste como es la cianita. Se lleva a cabo el estudio de la cinetica de transformacion cianita -mullita+silice y la evolucion microestructural de la mullita formada en funcion de la temperatura y tiempo de tratamiento. A continuacion, en base a los resultados obtenidos, se aborda el proceso de obtencion de polvos submicronicos de mullita de alta pureza y buena sinterabilidad mediante un proceso de lixiviacion acida fluorhidrica en medio acuoso. En la ultima etapa se formulan materiales de mullitass y mullitass-alumina con el objetivo de definir los parametros de procesamiento que permitan obtener materiales con densidades lo mas cercanas posibles a la teorica. La evolucion microestructural y la microquimica de estos materiales fue abordada con objeto de determinar los niveles de solucion solida de alumina en mullita y su influencia sobre las caracteristicas microestructurales de los materiales obtenidos.
