La ausencia de glucoquinasa en h\u00edgado de peces carn\u00edvoros ha sido considerada una de las posibles causas de la intolerancia a la glucosa observada en estos organismos.  en esta tesis, se describe la caracterizaci\u00f3n molecular de la glucoquinasa de h\u00edgado de gilthead sea bream(sparus aurata), una especie de pez carn\u00edvoro conocido como dorada. El cdna clonado incluye 2056 pares de bases y da lugar in vitro a la sintesis de una proteina de 54 kda, con actividad glucoquinasa. la afinidad de la enzima presente en extractos crudos de higado de dorada en relaci\u00f3n a la glucosa es 3 veces menor a la observada en la glucoquinasa hep\u00e1tica de rata. La actividad glucoquinasa detectada en  h\u00edgado de dorada es inferior a la descrita en ratas alimentadas. La expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica de esta enzima en higado de dorada disminuye despu\u00e9s de un ayuno prolongado e incrementa en condiciones de realimentaci\u00f3n. Las dietas ricas en carbohidratos, as\u00ed en carbohidratos, as\u00ed como el aporte de cantidades crecientes de dieta incrementan tambi\u00e9n la expresi\u00f3n de la glucoquinasa, que muestra valores m\u00e1ximos de mensajeros y actividad 4-8 horas despu\u00e9s de la ingesta de alimento. adicionlamente, en este trabajo se describe la caracterizaci\u00f3n molecular de otras dos enzimas implicadas tambi\u00e9n en el metabolismo del os carbohidratos, la 6-fosfofructo-2-quinasa\/fructosa-2,6-bisfosfatasa y la subunidad catal\u00edtica de la glucosa-6-fosfatasa de h\u00edgado de drada. El cdna de la 6-fosfofructo-2-quinasa\/fructosa-2,6-bisfosfatasa,enzima que intetiza y degrada fru-2,6p2, incluye 2527 pares de bases y da lugar in vitro a la s\u00edntesis de una proteina de 54 kda,
