Las variantes anat\u00f3micas del pw se han basado en disecciones en cad\u00e1veres. Las diferentes variantes anat\u00f3micas descritas por riggs (1963) y los trabajos de fields y cols. (1965) han servido de est\u00e1ndar en las diferentes publicaciones e investigaciones posteriores.  hipotesis de trabajo:  nuestro objetivo fue establecer los valores normales de referencia para las variantes anat\u00f3micas del pol\u00edgono de willis y calcular los di\u00e1metros medios de las arterias que lo componen usando estudios de angio-tc mediante reconstrucciones 3d-ssd.  material y metodo:  estudio prospectivo aleatorio de 135 pacientes (73 v, 62 m), estudiados con tc helicoidal y posteriores reconstrucciones en 3d-ssd. Medimos los calibres de los componentes vasculares del pw sobre las im\u00e1genes axiales de 0,5 mm de espesor. Las im\u00e1genes 3d-ssd sirvieron para determinar el tipo de variante. Los valores medios +- ds (ic 95%), test de fisser fueron manejados para las dos porciones del pw. El estudio estratificado comparativo (axial-3dssd) del tipo de pw los realizamos con el test de chi (2) y anova.  resultados:  el calibre medio de la porci\u00f3n anterior del pw fue de 3,5mm, no existiendo diferencias estad\u00edsticamente significativas entre sexos, salvo en la acmd (p=0.025). El tipo d (32%) fue el mas frecuente, no encontramos ning\u00fan tipo f. No existieron diferencias estad\u00edsticamente significativas entre sexo y tipo de pw, aunque predomino en varones los tipos g y a.  en la porci\u00f3n posterior del pw el calibre medio fue de 2,8 mm, no existiendo diferencias estad\u00edsticamente significativas entre sexos. El tipo e (62,2%) fue el m\u00e1s frecuente, no se identific\u00f3 ning\u00fan tipo b y no existi\u00f3 diferencia estad\u00edsticamente significativa entre sexo-tipo de pw.  el punto de corte del
