El conocimiento de los mecanismos principales que describen la propagaci\u00f3n de luz en medios turbios son estudiados con el objeto de aplicar dichos conocimientos en el \u00e1rea de la biomedicina.  se presenta un estudio formal de las ecuaciones que predicen el transporte de luz en medios turbios inhomog\u00e9neos y se estudia los m\u00e9todos adecuados para su resoluci\u00f3n.  una vez presentadas las herramientas matem\u00e1ticas necesarias, la teor\u00eda es puesta a prueba con los resultados experimentales, demostrando que el empleo de la luz visible puede ser una t\u00e9cnica muy \u00fatil en la detecci\u00f3n precoz del c\u00e1ncer de mama, y que su transporte puede ser correctamente simulado mediante la ecuaci\u00f3n de difusi\u00f3n emple\u00e1ndolas condiciones de
