Para realizar dicho estudio se aplica un modelo numerico, basado en el metodo de los elementos finitos, que contempla dominios tridimensionales y la mayoria de los parametros y variables que influyen de forma significativa en la respuesta termica y tensional de dichas estructuras. Para contrastar el modelo termico, se realiza una comparacion entre los resultados que predice el modelo con los resultados medidos, fruto de la auscultacion termica en diferentes tipos estructurales. Posteriormente, a traves del modelo de analisis termico y tensional, se lleva a cabo un amplio estudio parametrico sobre un bloque de zocalo de presa en contacto con roca, en diferentes condiciones climaticas. A continuacion, se realiza un estudio exhaustivo del comportamiento termico y tensional de un bloque de presa construido evolutivamente por tongadas. Finalmente, en base a los resultados derivados del estudio general planteado, se presentan criterios para el proyecto de estructuras masivas de hormigon y de presas de hormigon y recomendaciones
