Los modelos experimentales pueden ser utilizados para aclarar estos aspectos. Es importante utilizar modelos animales superponibles en lo posible a la fisiopatolog\u00eda del ictus en humanos.  esta investigaci\u00f3n se plante\u00f3 para analizar algunos de los factores que podrian influir en la recanalizacion de las oclusiones tromboembolicas de arterias cerebrales al administrar rt-pa intravenoso. Se desarroll\u00f3 un modelo experimental que, a diferencia de los realizados hasta ahora, utiliza \u00e9mbolos reales procedentes de humanos, obtenidos e embolectomias de isquemias arteriales agudas.  material y metodos: en el estudio se han utilizado un total de setenta y dos ratas machos, de raza wistar. El procedimiento se realiz\u00f3 mediante anestesia general con asistencia respiratoria. En todos los animales se mantuvo constante la temperatura corporal y se controlaron la glucemia, la gasometria y la tension arterial. La embolizacion se realiz\u00f3 utilizando material proveniente de pacientes con embolia arterial periferica, que se administracion a traves de la arteria car\u00f3tida externa de la rata, previa preparaci\u00f3n quirurgica del trayecto arterial requerido. Se realizaron un total de cinco arteriografias seriadas por rata. La primera se realizada a los 15 minutos de la embolizaci\u00f3n, inmediatamente antes de la administracion del tratamiento, para confirmar la oclusi\u00f3n. Se desecharon los animales en los que no se confirm\u00f3 oclusi\u00f3n y en los que esta no se localizaba en el tronco de la carotida intena. Las otras cuatro arteriografias se realizaron a los 30,60,90 y 120 minutos de la embolizaci\u00f3n, analizando los distintos grados timi en cada uno de ellas. Para el estudio del factor dosis se empleo rt-pa a una dosis de 1 mg\/kg, 10 mg\/kg y 20 mg\/kg o suero salino.
