El grado de estr\u00e9s oxidativo hep\u00e1tico se valor\u00f3 mediante los cambios en la formaci\u00f3n de lipoper\u00f3xidos lpo y el contenido de glutation reducido gsh en plasma, lisado de eritrocitos y homogenados de tejido renal y hep\u00e1tico. Asimismo, la colestasis y el da\u00f1o hep\u00e1tico se investig\u00f3 por los cambios acontecidos en las actividades enzim\u00e1ticas en plasma de alanino aminotrasnferasa alt, apartado aminotransferasa ast, fosfatasa alcalina fa, gamma-glutamiltranspeptidasa ggt, alb\u00famina ab, bilirrubina total bt y bilirrubina directa bd. Tanto mel como same se administraron diariamente desde los tres d\u00edas previos al procedimiento quir\u00fargico hasta el d\u00e9cimo d\u00eda despu\u00e9s de la intervenci\u00f3n.  la lcbe determin\u00f3 elevaciones altamente significativas de las actividades enzim\u00e1ticas hep\u00e1ticas, niveles de las dos fracciones de bilirrubina y formaci\u00f3n de lipoper\u00f3sicos en plasma, eritrocitos y tejidos renal y hep\u00e1tico, mientras que produjo un notable descenso en las reservas de gsh en estos medios biol\u00f3gicos. Tanto la administraci\u00f3n de mel como de same demostraron su eficacia como antioxidantes y hepatoprotectores, aunque la expresi\u00f3n de estos efectos fue m\u00e1s notable para el caso de mel, que evit\u00f3 el descenso de gsh y descendi\u00f3 de forma muy significativa el incremento de las actividades enzim\u00e1ticas y el grado de lipoperoxidaci\u00f3n producido por la ligadura biliar. la same no modific\u00f3 los niveles de ggt y de bt. Sin embargo, la same al igual que la mel demostr\u00f3 gran eficacia en la recuperaci\u00f3n del contenido de gsh en eritrocitos, plasma y tejidos hep\u00e1tico y
