La cepa mostraba un amplio espectro de actividad frente a gran positivos, siendo inactiva frente a gram-negativos. La purificacion hasta termogeneidad, mediante cromatografia en fase reversa (fplc) revel\u00f3 que produc\u00eda dos bacteriocinas diferentes llamadas cereina 7 y cereina 8. El analisis de la secuencia de adn, obtenido por amplificaci\u00f3n mediante pcr revelo que la cereina 8 era una proteina de 56 aminoacidos con una regi\u00f3n lidr aminoterminal del tipo doble glicina de 18 a.A.
