De ello se han inferido correspondencias entre construccion de variantes de carreteras y crecimiento urbano, no demostradas en terminos fisicos el estudio de dichas correspondencias es el objeto principal de la tesis a este efecto se analiza la evolucion sufrida por 24 ciudades espa\u00f1olas cuya variante de carretera tiene una antiguedad superior a los 20 a\u00f1os. Mediante la comparacion de series cartograficas se realiza una exhaustiva medicion de la evolucion de los usos del suelo.  las hipotesis previas respecto a esas correspondencias se confirman y matizan a traves de la aplicacion de indicadores estadisticos a las relaciones entre crecimiento producido en distintas zonas de la ciudad y forma y distancia de la variante. Deduciendose leyes de crecimiento que demuestran en forma cuantitativa, como, en general, este ha sido mucho mayor en las zonas de la ciudad afectadas por la nueva
