La gdh de streptomyces clavuligerus ha sido purificada a homogeneidad y se ha caracterizado bioqu\u00edmica, cin\u00e9tica y gen\u00e9ticamente.  posee una masa molecular nativa (mr) de 1.100 kda y est\u00e1 constituida por seis subunidades id\u00e9nticas (a6) de 183 kda cada una. Esta gdh, que requiere amp como activador indispensable, exhibe una m\u00e1xima velocidad de cat\u00e1lisis en tamp\u00f3n fosfato 100 mm a ph 7 y a 30\u00c2\u00bac. En estas condiciones, siguen una cin\u00e9ica de saturaci\u00f3n hiperb\u00f3lica con el amonio (km = 33 mm) y sigmoide con el a-cetuglutarato (so,5 =1,3 mm, nh =1,5) y con el nadh (so = 20 um, nh = 1,5). El aspartato y la asparragina son activadores de los t\u00e9ricos de esta enzima, que adem\u00e1s, es inhibida por exceso de los sustratos nadh y nh4+, por algunos intermediarios del ciclo de los \u00e1cidos tricarbox\u00edlicos, por atp y por tris. Su funci\u00f3n fisiol\u00f3gica parece ser catab\u00f3lica ya que es espec\u00edfica de nad+, posee un elevado valor de km para el amonio y su m\u00e1xima expresi\u00f3n se obtiene en un medio de crecimiento que contiene glutamato como \u00fanicas fuentes de carbono y de nitr\u00f3geno. La gdh de s. Clavuligerus es una prote\u00edna de 1.651 amino\u00e1cidos y est\u00e1 codificada por un fragmento de dna de 4.953 pb (gen gdh). Exhibe un elevado porcentaje de homolog\u00eda con prote\u00ednas codificadas por orfs, hasta el momento de funci\u00f3n desconocida, presentes en el genoma de especies bacterianas de los g\u00e9neros mycobacterium, rickettsia, pseudomonas, vibrio, shewanella y caulobacter, lo que sugiere que este nuevo tipo de enzimas se encuentra apliamente distribuido entre las bacterias.  adem\u00e1s, en este trabajo, se estudian las relaciones filogen\u00e9ticas entre los diferentes tipos de gdhs y se propone una hip\u00f3tesis que explica su origen, su evoluci\u00f3n y su distribuci\u00f3n en los
