Su funci\u00f3n se ha postulado que es la estabilizaci\u00f3n de los microtubulos, promoviendo de esta forma su ensamblaje. Para analizar las funciones in vivo de esta proteina, en esta tesis hemos analizado la deficiencia de map1b en un modelo de raton transgenico.  los animales fueron generados por el metodo de \u00abgene trapping\u00bb y el analisis de los mutantes, en los cuales la expresi\u00f3n de map1b esta reducida en un 95%, arroja como resultado una letalidad perinatal de los animales homocigotos.  estos animales presentaron deficiencias en todas las estructuras laminadas del cerebro, entre ellas, el cerebelo, el hipocampo y la corteza cerebral, sugirieron la participaci\u00f3n de map1b en los procesos de migraci\u00f3n neuronal.  as\u00ed mismo, a nivel celular se describe que las neuronas de hipocampo de los animales homocigotos para la mutaci\u00f3n tienen menos microtubulos que aquellas de los controles. Este es la primera evidencia in vivo que confirma una de las funciones que se le han adscritos a la map1b. Igualmente en las neuronas deficientes en map1b el balance entre la poblacion de microtubulos estables y dinamicos esta alterado en estos mutantes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de
