Marta <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Las prote\u00ednas que intervienen en la s\u00edntesis de la hidrogenasa [fe ni] de r.Leguminosarum bv.Viciae est\u00e1n codificadas por una agrupaci\u00f3n de 18 genes estrechamente ligados en el pl\u00e1smido simbi\u00f3tico y orientados en el mismo sentido. Esta agrupaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 formada por tres unidades transcripcionales, dos de las cuales (hupslcdef y hupghijk) se expresan exclusivamente en simbiosis.  dentro de la unidad transcripcional hupslcdef los genes hupsl codifican para las subunidades estructurales de la hidrogenasa. Dicha unidad se expresa a partir del promotor p1. P1 es un promotor de tipo -24\/-12 cuya expresi\u00f3n es dependiente de rpon, de ihf y del activador transcripcional nifa. La activaci\u00f3n dependiente de nifa de p1 fue corroborada en el fondo gen\u00e9tico de k.Pneumoniae mediante experimentos de inhibici\u00f3n de la nitrogenasa por m\u00faltiples copias de p1 y en el fondo de r.Etli utilizando mutantes nifa en simbiosis con jud\u00edas (phaseolus vulgaris l.).  la activaci\u00f3n de p1 por nifa depende de un elemento en cis localizado entre las posiciones -170\/-142. Esta regi\u00f3n no contiene uas consenso de la uni\u00f3n a nifa. Mediante an\u00e1lisis de deleci\u00f3n, mutg\u00e9nesis dirigida y aleatoria de los nucle\u00f3tidos de esta regi\u00f3n se demostr\u00f3 que la secuencia que contiene tres semicajas consenso acaa-n5-acaa-n12-ttgt era responsable de la uni\u00f3n de nifa y de la activaci\u00f3n del promotor. En funci\u00f3n de estos resultados se propone un modelo cooperativo de activaci\u00f3n de p1 por nifa en el que las prote\u00ednas interaccionan directamente con el adn a trav\u00e9s de las semicajas y facilitan la acumulaci\u00f3n del regulador en el promotor por interacci\u00f3n prote\u00edna-prote\u00edna.  la unidad transcripcional hupghijk, que codifica para prote\u00ednas accesorias en la s\u00edntesis de una hidrogenasa activa, se expresa al menos desde un promotor p3 de tipo -24\/-12 activado inespec\u00edficamente en simbiosis con guisantes por nifa.
