En cambio, el papel que juega la apoa-ii en el metabolismo lipoproteico y en el desarrollo de arteriosclerosis es menos conocido.  recientemente, nuestro grupo de investigaci\u00f3n ha desarrollado y caracterizado diferentes l\u00edneas de ratones transg\u00e9nicos con fondo gen\u00e9tico c5bl\/6 que expresan la apoa-ii humana (l\u00edneas 25.3 y 11.1). Los ratones con menos expresi\u00f3n de apoa-ii humana no mostraron diferencias fenot\u00edpicas respecto de los ratones control. En cambio, los ratones con m\u00e1s expresi\u00f3n de apoa-ii humana en plasma (l\u00ednea 11.1) presentaron, alimentados con una dieta de mantenimiento, hipertrigliceridemia y hipocolesterolemia, \u00e9sta \u00faltima fundamentalmente debida a una deficiencia de colesterol de hdl. Los ratones transg\u00e9nicos 11.1 alimentados con una dieta rica en grasas y colesterol desarrollaron una hiperlipemia combinada que result\u00f3 en unos niveles de colesterol moderadamente aumentados y un aumento m\u00e1s importante de los triglic\u00e9ridos plasm\u00e1ticos, acompa\u00f1ado de una deficiencia de colesterol de hdl respecto de los ratones control. Por este motivo, en el presente trabajo se estudiaron los mecanismos involucrados en la aparici\u00f3n del fenotipo lipoproteico descrito en los ratones transg\u00e9nicos 11.1.  la sobreexpresi\u00f3n de apoa-ii humana provoc\u00f3 una deficiencia parcial en plasma de apoa-i y hdl. En dieta de mantenimiento, los ratones transg\u00e9nicos 11.1 presentaron una disminuci\u00f3n en la s\u00edntesis hep\u00e1tica de apoa-i como consecuencia de un mecanismo, s\u00f3lo en parte,
