La distribuci\u00f3n de este p\u00e9ptido es muy amplia aunque al inicio de este trabajo se desconocia su distribuci\u00f3n en el sistema nervioso central. A este p\u00e9ptido se le atribuyen distintas funciones entre ellas, como agente vasodilatador, neuroprotector y antiapopt\u00f3tico.  debido a todos estos antecedentes, decidimos estudiar en profundidad la expresi\u00f3n y distribuci\u00f3n del p\u00e9ptido adrenomedulina en el cerebro de ratas control y en la corteza cerebral de ratas que han sufrido un proceso de hipoxia\/ isquemia-reperfusi\u00f3n. Para este estudio hemos utilizado t\u00e9cnicas de western blot y t\u00e9cnicas inmunocitoqu\u00edmicas aplicadas al estudio de microscop\u00eda \u00f3ptica, de confocal y de microscop\u00eda electr\u00f3nica.  gracias a este estudio se ha demostrado la extensa distribuci\u00f3n del p\u00e9ptido adrenomedulina considerandole un neurotransmisor importante en el sistema nervioso central. La expresi\u00f3n y distribuci\u00f3n de este p\u00e9ptido aumentaba en concidiones de hipoxia, habiendo variaciones en los distintos tipos celulares a lo largo de las distintas horas de reperfusi\u00f3n.  gracias a los estudios de microscop\u00eda de confocal hemos demostrado la posible relaci\u00f3n entre este p\u00e9ptido y las isoformas neuronales e inducible de la enzima \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico sintasa, planteando un posible mecanismo de acci\u00f3n por parte del p\u00e9ptido adrenomedulina.  gracias a estudios de microscop\u00eda electr\u00f3nica hemos demsotrado la capacidad que tiene la adrenomedulina como agente neuroprotector, no s\u00f3lo a nivel celular sino tambi\u00e9n a nivel de los vasos sangu\u00edneos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos
