Por ello, el motivo fundamental de este trabajo de tesis fue precisamente ese, la caracterizaci\u00f3n de receptores metabotr\u00f3picos de glutamato presentes en la linea celular c6 de glioma rata, como modelo de celula glial. Entre los objetivos planteados al inicio del trabajo experimental y que se lograron, mediante la aplicaci\u00f3n de diferentes tecnicas bioquimicas, se encuentran:  1.-La caracterizacion del sistema transductor de la se\u00f1al mediada por los receptores metabotr\u00f3picos de glutamato. Dicha caracterizaci\u00f3n se realiz\u00f3 a nivel de los propios receptores, de las proteinas g y de la actividad fofolipasa c acoplada a los mismos.  2.-La caracterizacion del sistema transductor de la se\u00f1al mediada por el receptor a1 de adenosina, caracterizando el propio receptor, las prote\u00ednas g y la actividad adenilato ciclasa acoplada al mismo.  3.-El proceso de regulaci\u00f3n de la se\u00f1al mediada por los receptores metabotr\u00f3picos de glutamato. En este sentido se someti\u00f3 a las celulas c6 a tratamientos con diferentes agonistas selectivos de los receptores metabotr\u00f3picos de glutamato, constatandose un proceso de desensibilizaci\u00f3n del sistema transductor.  4.-La existencia de un proceso de transmodulaci\u00f3n entre la se\u00f1al mediada por los receptores metabotr\u00f3picos de glutamato y los receptores a1 de adenosina, manifestado a nivel del propio receptor metabotr\u00f3pico como de la actividad plc asociada al mismo, y en el que participan los niveles intracelulares de ampc.  5.-La caracterizacion del mecanismo implicado en los procesos de regulaci\u00f3n de los receptores metabotr\u00f3picos, demostrando la participaci\u00f3n de vesiculas cubiertas de
