Considerando la diferenciaci\u00f3n celular como un proceso inverso al desarrollo tumoral, el objetivo principal de este trabajo fue evaluar si el comportamiento de esta enzima durante la diferenciaci\u00f3n de l\u00edneas celulares de colon humano reflejaba cambios inversos a los que ocurren en el proceso tumoral. Los resultados muestran que a lo largo del proceso de diferenciaci\u00f3n la enzima alfa-l-fucosidasa experimenta un incremento gradual en su actividad, por lo que las c\u00e9lulas diferenciadas contienen niveles superiores de actividad alfa-l-fucosid\u00e1sica intracelular.La cuantificaci\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna espec\u00edfica en bambos fenotipos celulares indica un aumento en la misma, aunque inferior al incremento observado en la actividad espec\u00edfica.  hemos comprobado que el incremento detectado no es debido a cambios en el valor de ph \u00f3ptimo, en la estabilidad frente al ph y a la temperatura, o en su afinidad frente al sustrato sint\u00e9tico 4-mu-fuc\u00f3sido. La disminuci\u00f3n en la actividad intracelular no se debe tampoco a una alteraci\u00f3n de la secreci\u00f3n de la enzima al medio extracelular ni a la presencia de inhibidores o activadores de dicha actividad.  sin embargo, el patr\u00f3n de glicosilaci\u00f3n y el estado de agregaci\u00f3n de la enxima s\u00ed es dependiente del fenotipo celular. Tras la diferenciaci\u00f3n celular la enzima muestra un mayor n\u00famero de manosas, as\u00ed como un mayor estado de agregaci\u00f3n, que la presente en cultivos no diferenciados.
