El m\u00fasculo es un tejido especialmente expuesto a esta acci\u00f3n. La viabilidad de un miembro con lesi\u00f3n por congelaci\u00f3n depender\u00e1, en gran parte, de su masa muscular. Se plantea un estudio experimental de lesi\u00f3n por congelaci\u00f3n por el m\u00e9todo de inmersi\u00f3n en mezcla rifrigerante (alta intensidad: -20\u00c2\u00bac, 10 minutos\/baja intensidad: -10\u00c2\u00bac, 4 minutos) en la pata posterior de rata wistar macho. El m\u00fasculo estudiado (tibial posterior) era extra\u00eddo en diferentes tiempos de postcongelaci\u00f3n (24 horas, 7 d\u00edas, 14 d\u00edas, 1 mes, 2 meses, 3 meses) para su an\u00e1lisis en microscopio \u00f3ptico (mo) (tinci\u00f3n con h&amp;e, tinciones histoqu\u00edmicas) y microscopio electr\u00f3nico (me). El mo se ha utilizado para la descripci\u00f3n de las lesiones en los diferentes periodos de tiempo, as\u00ed como para el estudio morfom\u00e9trico. El se me ha reservado para las muestras menos lesionadas, en orden a la descripci\u00f3n de alteraciones ultraestructurales.  de los resultados obtenidos se ha llegado a las siguientes conclusiones:  1,- las temperaturas y tiempos de exposici\u00f3n empleados dan lugar a lesiones que se ajustan a un modelo criog\u00e9nico de lesi\u00f3n.  2,- a partir de la primera semana los fen\u00f3menos regenerativos son evidentes, siendo m\u00e1s llamativos en el periodo de 2 meses.  3,- los fen\u00f3menos de congesti\u00f3n venosa e hiperemia no se relacionan con la evoluci\u00f3n de la necrosis celular.  4,- los capilares y arteriolas aumentan de forma paralela a la regeneraci\u00f3n  5,- las fibras tipo i muestran una mayor estabilidad en el proceso de regeneraci\u00f3n. Las fibras tipo ii son m\u00e1s susceptibles a la lesi\u00f3n.  6,- la proporci\u00f3n de fibras tipo i\/ii, se modifica poco en el m\u00fasculo sometido a congelaci\u00f3n de alta intensidad.
