La reciente puesta en evidencia de la sintesis y liberacion en el seno de la medula suprarrenal de neuropeptidos tales como la vasopresina (avp),el factor liberador de corticotropina (crf) o la adernocorticotropina plantea el problema de la regulaci\u00f3n fina de la actividad de la glandula suprarrenal por estas secreciones locales. Por otra parte y teniendo en cuenta la gran homolog\u00eda estructural y funcional que existe entre la glandula suprarrenal y el complejo hipot\u00e1lamo-hipofisario (glandulas con un doble origen embriol\u00f3gico que secretan neurop\u00e9tidos comunes, avp y crf entre otros, y poseen sus receptores especificos) se contemplara la hipotesis de una accion concertada de estos dos neurop\u00e9ptidos en la medula suprarrenal, como ya ha sido demostrado a nivel hipofisario. Este trabajo de tesis comporta en primer lugar la caracterizacion farmacol\u00f3gica de los diferentes receptores de vasopresina en ternero, ya que nada habia sido descrito anteriormente a este respecto. En segundo lugar, comprobar la presencia de diferentes subtipos de receptores de la vasopresina en la glandula suprarrenal bovina, carcterizarlos y establecer su papel fisiologico. por ultimo, estudiar las posibles interacciones entre la vasopresia y el factor liberador de corticotropina a nivel de la m\u00e9dula suprarrenal. De esta manera, se agrupa la farmacolog\u00eda molecular, los estudios de las vias de acoplamiento y los efectos de secreci\u00f3n asociados a la activacion de los receptores de
